Verse 1

Ejīachhḍākhojo āhīṅachhḍākhojo, Lāgo te satke dhāgejī

English meaning: O brother! Search for goodness, search for goodness. Be attached to the string of truth.

Verse 2

Ejī achhḍā ṭhero āhīṅnirmal hinḍo, Tusājīvḍekūmel na lāgejī

English meaning: O brother! Remain firm on goodness and be pure in behavior so that your soul may not be soiled.

Verse 3

Ejīkasoṭiye jem kanchan kasīye, Tusāāpkūāp kasāvojī

English meaning: O brother! As gold is tested (by rubbing it) against a touchstone, in the same way put your own self to test.

Verse 4

Ejīchoḍmajīṭh haebīkapḍā, Tusā āpkū āp rangāvojī

English meaning: O brother! As colorfast dye is applied to cloth, in the same way dye yourself.

Verse 5

Ejījo bich milṇāso pakh bich milṇā, Tusābhītar jagan rachāvojī

English meaning: O brother! If you wish to meet, do so in the group of virtuous people. Awaken the self within you.

Verse 6

Ejījisdāgur pūrābharde piyālā, So chelāpive pive māch eji

English meaning: O brother! The one whose spiritual master gives a bowl that is full (of light), that disciple gets intoxicated by drinking it.

Verse 7

Ejīginān kanthe PīrS h a m s Dātā, Pāṅch māro tusāaraj dharāvojī

English meaning: O brother! Pir Shams Data (r.a.) says the ginan; destroy your five carnal desires, and entreat and supplicate.
