Verse 1

elo āelo pīral āelo, Hāṅre alā Analkhe sheher Gajanīyāre alā

English meaning: O brother! He has arrived, Pir Shams (ra) has arrived. Has come to the city of Gajni (Ghazani) of Anal.

Verse 2

Harante phirante sheher bhamiyā nagar bhamiyā; Hāṅre alā Emṇā so kie ghar reheṇiyāre alā

English meaning: O brother! He strolled around the whole city, around the whole town and enƋuired as to where TiT Emṇā live.

Verse 3

ngaṇīe drāksh bījoṭ bījoṭalā; Hāṅre kūve so pīpar ghamghamiyāre alā

English meaning: O brother! (He received the answer that) /n her yard there are trees of grapes and millet, and the sound of swaying of thick pipal trees can be heard near the well.

Verse 4

Kachā so ghaḍā kachī so dor; Hāṅre alā pāṇī bharaṇ kūṅve chalīre alā

English meaning: O brother! With crude pitcher and crude rope mṇā ai went to the well to fetch water.

Verse 5

Phūṭiyo na ghaḍā merī trūṭiyo na dor; Hāṅre alā māṅ ghar Pīr Shams piroṇalāre alā

English meaning: O brother! ( mṇā ai said)͗ O pitcher! o not crack, O rope! o not break, in my house Pir Shams (ra) is guest.

Verse 6

Phūṭā na ghaḍā merī trūṭī na dor; Hāṅre alā Emṇā so tere dharamsūṅre alā

English meaning: O brother! ( mṇā ai said)͗ Eeither did my pitcher crack nor did my rope break. O Emṇā! This has happened because of your faith.

Verse 7

Suṇ merī naṇanTī Wum sūṇo merī naṇanTī; Hāṅre alā hāthke Tevūṅgī do kaḍvere alā

English meaning: O brother! ( mṇā ai said)͗ >isten my sister-in-law! / will give you two bangles of my hand; (do not reveal the secret that Pir Shams (ra) is a guest in my house).

Verse 8

Bhiṭh tere kaḍve e sonārundhe ghaḍve; Hāṅre alā merī jībhalḍī laṭpaṭiyāre alā

English meaning: O brother! ( mṇā ai͛s sister-in-law said)͗ Fie upon your gold bangles! My tongue is getting restless (for disclosing this secret).

Verse 9

Suṇ merī mayyā Wum suṇo merī mayyā; Hāṅre alā Emṇāe ghar abhḍā diyāre alā

English meaning: O brother! ( mṇā ai͛s sister-in-law said)͗ O my mother! >isten! O my mother! >isten! mṇā has defiled our house (by hosting a Muslim Pir as a guest).

Verse 10

Suṇo beṭā Harichandra suṇo beṭā Kulichand; Hāṅre alā Emṇākū bāhār nikālore alā

English meaning: O brother! ( mṇā ai͛s mother-in-law said)͗ >isten O son Harichandra! >isten O son Kulichand; throw mṇā out of the house.

Verse 11

Hāthme Hurmal kākhme Kurmal; Hāṅre alā Emṇākū bāhār nikālīre alā

English meaning: O brother! mṇā was cast out of the house, while holding onto Hurmal (one son) with one hand and Kurmal (second son) in her arms.

Verse 12

Paleme ser sab paleme ser sab; Hāṅre alā bhaṭhī bhunjāmaṇ le chalrīe alā

English meaning: O brother! ( mṇā ai) took some grains in the fringe of her skirt and went to roast them in the furnace.

Verse 13

Bhūne bhūne ser sab uḍan lāge ḍolan lāge; Hāṅre alā Emṇā so tere dharamsūṅre alā

English meaning: O brother! While roasting the grains began to fly away, began to jump. O mṇā! This has happened because of your faith.

Verse 14

Sūkā sarovar de hilorā Te jilorā; Hāṅre alā mānge hī bālak sohāmaṇāre alā

English meaning: O brother! ( mṇā ai said)͗ O dried up pond! Take us along with your sway and flow, this beautiful child desires it.

Verse 15

Sūkā sārovar diyā hilorā diyā jilorā; Hāṅre alā Emṇā so tere dharamsūṅre alā

English meaning: O brother! The dried-up pond began to flow, the waves began to offer support. O mṇā! This has happened because of your faith.
