Verse 1

(Selected verses) jī ઑlmot gaḍh pāṭaṇ MelamTes bhāire; Tiyāṅthī satgur Sohodev padhāriyā

English meaning: O brother! The true guide Sohodev arrived from the fort of Alamut, elam esh.

Verse 2

jī sonāno ghaḍūlo ne rūpā enḍhoṇī hāth bāine; Hīrnī dorie satī pāṇī sīṅchtā;

English meaning: O brother! The pious lady ( mṇā ai) went to fetch water with a gold pitcher and a silver stand in her hand, with a silk cord.

Verse 3

jī sāmā te miliya satgur Sohodev bāine; Koṭmāṅhethī toḍiyo navsaro hār bāie; Laḍī laḍī lāgūṅ mārā satgurjīne pāe bāi re; >okaḍiyā jāṇe satī motī vīṇWa

English meaning: O brother! The true guide Sohodev appeared before the pious lady ( mṇā ai). mṇā tore down the necklace of nine strings from her neck. Then on the pretext of picking up the strings she Wouched the feet of her spiritual guide. The people thought that the pious lady was picking up her pearls.

Verse 4

jī bāire panīhārī hūṅ pūchhūṅ Wamne vāt bāi re; Ghar dekhāḍo satī Emṇā Waṇā

English meaning: O brother! The true guide asked͗ O one who fills water! / am asking you something; show me the house of mṇā.

Verse 5

jī ūṅchā ūṅchā orḍā ne ugamṇā avās bāinā; Gugaryāro jhāṅpo gher āga܃ pāras pīpaḍo

English meaning: O brother! (She answered)͗ Facing the direction of the ast, the lady͛s residential rooms are high up, the gate decorated with bells and there is a huge Pipal tree in the courtyard.

Verse 6

jī āvjo rikhīsar amāre gher bāi re; hojaniyā randhāvūṅ sār Tār khīchḍī

English meaning: O brother! ( mṇā ai said)͗ O saint! Please visit our house. / will cook the best and most delicious Khich۷ī (an /ndian dish) for you to partake of.

Verse 7

jī lāvjo rikhīsar kevaḍiyānā pān bhāire; Tenā guWhāvūṅ rūḍā rūḍā bājlā

English meaning: O brother! ( mṇā ai said)͗ O saint! Please bring along the leaves of a fragrant tree, / shall weave a beautiful plate from it (for you to eat in).

Verse 8

jī rikhīsarnā besaṇā We sonānā bājoṭ bāire; hojaniyā āline satī ūbhā rahiyā

English meaning: O brother! (She) made the saints sit on tiny gold stools. mṇā ai stood and served them food.

Verse 9

jī jamīne rikhīsare TīThḍī āsīs bāine; āi tamne hojo gaḍh amrāpūrīnū vās bāire; Amar kāyā satī ghaṇū jīvso

English meaning: O brother! Having partaken of the meal the saints͛ showered ( mṇā ai) with blessings and prayers. O sister! May you obtain an abode in heaven. O pious lady! May your being be immortal. You will be blessed with a very long life.

Verse 10

jī rikhīsarne satīe āliyo mukhvās bhāire; Mukhvās laine rikhīsar sadhāriyā

English meaning: O brother! The pious lady ( mṇā ai) served some mouth freshener (anise seeds etc.) to the saints, and partaking of these, the saints departed.

Verse 11

jī rikhīsarnā bājlā We uparvāḍe nākhvāne gāyāWa bāire; Tiyāṅthī pāḍosaṇe nirakhiyā

English meaning: O brother! The pious lady ( mṇā ai) went to discard the used plates of leaves near her house when her neighbor saw her.

Verse 12

jī bāire Emṇā bāi pūchhūṅ Wamne vāt bāire; ઑj Wamāre gher koṇ koṇ paroṇalā

English meaning: O brother! (The neighbor inƋuired)͗ O mṇā ai! / would like to ask you a Ƌuestion. Who were the guests in your house today͍

Verse 13

jī ek māro māmo ne bījo māro vīr bāire; Trījo atīt je am ghar paroṇalā

English meaning: O brother! ( mṇā ai answered)͗ one of them was my uncle, the other was my brother and the third was a mendicant͗ these were the guests in my house.

Verse 14

jī o܃akhiyo tāro māmo ne o܃akhiyo tāro vīr bāire; O܃akhīyo atīt je tam ghar paroṇalā

English meaning: O brother! (The neighbor said)͗ / have recognized your uncle, / have recognized your brother and / have also recognized your mendicant, those who were the guests in your house.

Verse 15

jī bāire pāḍosaṇ ālūṅ Wamne sāḍlo bāire; hpar sivḍāvūṅ nīl jar kāpḍo bāire; Akārī sāsū āga܃ ma kahejo

English meaning: O brother! ( mṇā ai said)͗ O neighbor! / will present you with a sari and also have a blue studded outfit customized for you. Please don͛t relate anything to my toxic mother- in-law.

Verse 16

jī sūṅ karūṅ tāro sāḍlo ne Sūṅ karūṅ tāro kāpḍo bāire; Mārī jībhīyā vārī nav vare

English meaning: O brother! (The neighbor said)͗ what shall / do with your sari͍ What shall / do with your outfit͍ my tongue is simply irrepressible.

Verse 17

jī bāire Hemābāi kahūṅ Wamne vāt bāire; Tamārī vahūe āj gher abh܃āviyā

English meaning: O brother! (The neighbor said)͗ O Hema ai! >et me share something with you. Your daughter- in-law has polluted your house today.

Verse 18

jī jumre pāḍosaṇ jūṭhḍūṅ ma bol bāire; Amārī vahū to hajī nānā bālkā

English meaning: O brother! ( mṇā ai͛s mother-in-law replied)͗ O impetuous neighbor! o not lie! Our Taughter-in-law is but a youngster as yet.

Verse 19

jī bāire Hemā dekhāḍūṅ enThāṇ bāire; Uparvāḍe jūo paḍiyā chhe bājlā

English meaning: O brother! (The neighbor said)͗ O Hema ai! / can show you evidence (to prove my point). See outside! There are used leaves lying there.

Verse 20

jī Agar ne hanTan be Hemābāinā kūṅvar bāire; Tamārī vahūe āj gher abh܃āviyā

English meaning: O brother! (The neighbor said)͗ O Agar and handan, the two sons of Hema ai! Your daughter- in-law has polluted your house today.

Verse 21

jī Agar ne hanTan kūṅvar Sāmbh܃o morī vāt bhāire; Tamārī vahūne āj sīkh āljo

English meaning: O brother! (The neighbor said)͗ O sons, Agar and handan! >isten to me! Throw your daughter- in-law out of the house today.

Verse 22

jī mbayyo ne >imbayyo be E m ṇā bāinā kūṅvar bāire; Ame māWājī Wam bhe܃ā chālsūṅ

English meaning: O brother! Ambayya and >imbayya, the two sons of mṇā ai said͗ O mother! We will also come along with you.

Verse 23

jī mbayyā ne >imbayyā kūṅvar S āmbh܃o mori vāt bhāire; Tamārī āī pāse āj sīkh māngjo

English meaning: O brother! ( mṇā ai said)͗ O sons, Ambayya and >imbayya! >isten to me! Take permission from your grandmother today.

Verse 24

jī āīe We ālī koyalaḍī juvār bāine; Sīkh laine satī van sadhāriyā

English meaning: O brother! The mother-in-law gave rotten corn (as provision to mṇā ai.) Taking these provisions, the pious lady departed towards the forest.

Verse 25

jī boliyā bapayya koyal sarīkhe kanṭh bāi re; Sūkā sarovar āj amī jale bhariyā

English meaning: O brother! The cuckoo bird began to sing sweetly like its /ndian counterpart, the dried lake is full of sweet water today.

Verse 27

jī mbayyo te sarajīo sarovarnī pār bāire; >imbyyo sarajīo sāThū gher chhāṅeḍo

English meaning: O brother! Ambayya was created as the shore of the lake and >ambayya became the shade in the mystic͛s house.

Verse 28

jī āve ne jāve satgur Sohodev bhāire; hhāṅeḍe besī Wamne āle re āsīsaḍī

English meaning: O brother! The true guide Sohodev is coming and going back and forth. (He) is showering blessings and good fortune on you.

Verse 29

jī sarag bhamaṇthī utariyā vimān bāine; Vimāne besī satī sarage sadhāriyā

English meaning: O brother! A flying vehicle descended from heaven; ( mṇā ai) sat in the vehicle and departed towards heaven.

Verse 30

jī ginān boleā Pīr satgur Sohodev bhāire; Kār ja sidhā satī Emṇā Waṇā

English meaning: O brother! The true guide Sohodev has recited the Ginān. All the tasks of the pious lady mṇā ai were accomplished. (Eote͗ this story is narrated in the two previous Gināns as well)
