English meaning: Tongue is the only sense, which, one who controls, succeeds.

Indri thar vinā pāp na jāe, Pāp gayā vinā sudh na thāe

English meaning: Without controlling senses sins cannot be eliminated, and without eliminating the sins none can become pure.

Sudh thayā vinā santokh na hoe, Santokh vinā bhagti na hoe

English meaning: Without being pure, contentment cannot be attained and without contentment devotion is not possible.

Verse 224

Bhagti vinā koi jugti na pāe, Jugti vinā koi mugti na thāe

English meaning: Without devotion no one can find the path; without the path no one can attain salvation.

Mugti vinā amrāpuri na jāe, Amar thayā vinā didār na pāe

English meaning: Without salvation no one can reach eternal abode (paradise); without being immortal no one can attain didar.

Putra pitāne puṭhe dhare, Teni hachāe te koi nahiṅ tare

English meaning: Son will stab father in the back; no one will get salvation because of this murder.

Bhitar beṭhā bār kem jāe, Man nā chitaviyā te kāṅe nahiṅ thāe

English meaning: How can you throw out such deeds your inside is full with; those who act upon their desire will achieve nothing.

Satpanthi te je pāṅch vash kare, Je gur māṅge te āgal dhare

English meaning: The follower of Satpanth (True Path) is the one who controls the five vices and offers what the spiritual guide demands.

Satgur vachane jivtā mare, Ekoter puriyā tenā tare

English meaning: One who dies in his life (i.e. controls his desires) as per the teachings of one's true guide, his seventy-one (71) generations will attain salvation.

English meaning: He whose worldly desires are eliminated, he can easily control his carnal desires and anger.

Man māri ne dhare dhiyān, Man mā rākhe braham ginan

English meaning: He kills his ego and concentrates; in the heart he keeps divine knowledge.

English meaning: He lives with truth and patience. Shares the happiness and sadness of heart with Ali (a.s.).

Jene ride Ali nu nām, Tene nit nit gangā snān

English meaning: In whose heart dwells the name of Ali (a.s.), he always bathes in river Ganges i.e. he is always pure.

Gat māṅhe nit nit nirmal thāe, Tenā te jivḍā vaikunṭh mā jāe

English meaning: He always cleans himself in the Jamatkhana; his soul goes to paradise.

Dasond sukrite purā rahe, Suno rikhisaro satgur kahe

English meaning: He is always regular in Dasond and Sukrit (good deeds); listen o momins! So says true guide.

English meaning: O momins! Take care of yourselves so that you become pure.

Pāp na rākho avguṇ rati, Sat santokh tame rākho sati

English meaning: Don't keep even an iota of sin or evil; o momins! Adopt truth and contentment.

Dayā dharam suṅ tame rākho het, Jem bhādarve hariyā khet

English meaning: Love mercy and virtue like the farms become luxurious in the month of Bhādo (a month of rain).

Bhāi jāṅ sudhi tārā tan māṅhe prāṇ, To sās usāse levo Ali nu nām

English meaning: O brother! As long as there is life in your body keep taking the name of Ali (a.s.) in every breath.

Nām na visāro hardam Ali, Māṅkhā dehi na āve phari

English meaning: Never forget the name of Ali (a.s.), for this human body will not be given again.

English meaning: Satpanth (the True Path) is always the best; Shah (Imam) and Pir are one, don't consider them separate.

Pir te je sāhebe thāpiyā, Niyam jugājug pire āpiyā

English meaning: A Pir is the one who has been appointed by Imam; in every age Pir taught about the practice of faith.

Munivar ginān vichāri joe, Pir shāhā ek nahiṅ kāṅe doe

English meaning: O Momins! Contemplate on ginan carefully; Shah and Pir are one, not two.

Jo tame pir ni dhāvan lāgo, To ved shāstra thi kāṅe pāchhā bhāgo

English meaning: If you obey the Pir then why do you run away from holy scriptures?

Jo tame pir shāhāni karo ās, To kāṅe na chālo ginan ki rās

English meaning: If you hope for Pir and Shah then why don't you act upon ginan?

Satgurni vāchā pāḷo sahi, To amrāpuri mā ramsho jai

English meaning: If you obey the commands of the true guide then you will enjoy the bliss of eternal abode.

Satgurnā vāek ne suṅ suṅ kari jāntā, Tenā to jivḍā dozake paḍiyā

English meaning: He who will not heed the teachings of the true master, his soul will enter hell.

Je satgurnā vachan sir upar lese, Te jai pir shāhā ke pāse rahese

English meaning: He who will respect and act upon the teachings of the true master, will get a place near Pir and Shah.

Gurnar ni tame karjo sevā, E khaṭ nirinjan utam mevā

English meaning: Serve the gur (Pir) and nar (Shah); this is Khat Nirinjan (six paths) leading to God and the best reward.

English meaning: Pir Sadardin (r.a.) speaks the truth; o brother! This is Khat Nirinjan (six paths) leading to God.

Shāhnā darshan thi jāve pāp, Te alakh nirinjan āpo hi āp

English meaning: By Imam's didar sins get washed away and he becomes clean and pure by himself like the Indescribable and the Unseen.
