Verse 1

duā sunnat ham bhed na jāṇe Bāi Buḍhāi Jīre bhāi duā sunnat ham bhed na jāṇe, Tum āp hī ham kūṅ sikhāvo jīre bhāi

English meaning: O brother! I do not know the secret of the practice of Duµā ; please teach me.

Verse 2

Jīre bhāi khāṇā pīṇā ham hāthe pakāve, Ab dāsī sūṅ kām na leṇā jīre bhāi

English meaning: O brother! I will cook my food myself; will not take help from the maidservant.

Verse 3

Jīre bhāi tum kaho so ham dhandhā ja kare, Bhātūṅ bhātūṅ kā gul sīve jīre bhāi

English meaning: O brother! I will do whatever work you suggest; will embroider a variety of flowers.

Verse 4

Jīre bhāi us dhandhe me leke khāṇā ja khāve, Aor peṭ kū pāṭā bhī deve jīre bhāi

English meaning: O brother! I will eat my food from the earning of this work and will wrap a bandage on the stomach (so as not to feel the hunger pangs).

Verse 5

Jīre bhāi jis bātūṅ se Allah Nabī jo rājī, Jis me mārag soelā pāve jīre bhāi

English meaning: O brother! (I will do) the things which please Allah and the Holy Prophet (S.A.S.) so that I may obtain the easy path.

Verse 6

Jīre bhāi āpṇe nāne dāde upar kasṇī jo vītī, To āpaṇus se moṭere nāhi jīre bhāi

English meaning: O brother! When our maternal and paternal grandfathers had to undergo trials and tribulations then we are not superior to them.

Verse 7

Jīre bhāi Bāi Buḍhāi kī vintī ja suṇo, Ham to shāhā ji ke hāṭ vechāṇī jīre bhāi

English meaning: O brother! Listen to the entreaty of Bai Budhai. I have been sold at the market of the Lord.
