Verse 1

Ejī dūr deshthī āyo vaṇjāro, Shāh mil sodā kijīyejī

English meaning: O trader! You have come from a faraway land; do business jointly with the Lord.

Verse 2

Ejī sūte beṭhe bhāī rāh chalantejī, Nām sāhebjīko lijīyejī

English meaning: O brother! While reclining, sitting and while walking keep on taking the name of the Lord.

Verse 3

Ejījo ghar hove bhāī vast piyārī, So nām sāhebjīko dijīyejī

English meaning: O brother! Give the most fa vorite thing in your house in name of the Lord.

Verse 4

Ejī ek kaṇ nām sāhebjīke dijejī, To palatra savā lākh lijīyejī

English meaning: O brother! If you give one grain in the name of the Lord, you will get it multiplied one hundred and twenty five thousand times in the Hereafter.

Verse 5

Ejī andhlekūṅ chandar yārā najar na āvejī, Kaheṇā sohī na patijīyejī

English meaning: O brother! The blind cannot see the moon; a verbal explanation will also not convince him.

Verse 6

Eji diṭhḍā dosh bhāī kiskūṅ na dīje, To aṇ diṭhā kiyūṅ kar dijīyejī

English meaning: O brother! You must not accuse anyone even if you see him doing wrong, then how can you blame without seeing?

Verse 7

Ejī par nindā bhāī jagat khuvārījī, Sir pāūṅ narage paḍījīyejī

English meaning: O brother! A backbiter faces disgrace throughout the world and he will go to hell from top to toe.

Verse 8

Ejī māṇak laine vaṇjāro āyojī, Māṇak tis chuṇī lijīyejī

English meaning: O brother! The trader has brought diamonds and gems with him; make a choice from these diamonds and gems.

Verse 9

Ejī maṇak chhoḍī je kanch vaṇjaṇ, Tāse lāo na lijīyejī

English meaning: O brother! Those who in stead of diamonds and gems do business in glass, do not have dealings with them.

Verse 10

Ejījis haṭīmeṅ bhāī vakhar thoḍā, Tin sāṇvaṇaj na kijīyejī

English meaning: O brother! Do not do business with a shop that has few wares.

Verse 11

Ejī āchhī āchhī karṇī kamāvo mere bhāī, To agan na bāḷe, pavan na ḍole, pāṇī na boḷe, Rājā bī danḍ na dijīyejī

English meaning: O brother! Let your earnings be clean and pure then fire will not burn it, wind will not blow it, water will not drown it and neither will the king impose a penalty on it.

Verse 12

Ejī kholī bhanḍār māro sāmī rājo beṭhā, Njṅch nichkā shabadsuṇījīyejī

English meaning: O brother! My Lord King sits with his treasure open; he listens to the call of big and small.

Verse 13

Ejīlai tarājū māro sāheb rājo beṭhā, Lāvo to mūl karījīyejī

English meaning: O brother! My Lord King sits with a scale; bring forth so that its worth may be estimated.

Verse 14

Ejī e ginān mahāras Pīr gofte Hasan Shāh, Sāmī rājo sidak patījīyejī

English meaning: O brother! Pir Hasan Shah (r.a.) says this ginan full of wisdom; accept my Lord King as true.
