Verse 1
Gur kar mere sādhiyā, kar gur mere sādhi, Change amal dil vich voro, parharo duniyā bāji; Duniyā bāji āp murādi, te tu kie mit hamārā, Tin vār tu bhanj bhanj ghaḍiyā, hia sā chothi vārā; Āp bhanje āpe shāh ghaḍe, āpe mullāshāh āpe kāzi, Nodharsho jo to uṇvāṭ na hove, To kar gur moman sādhi
English meaning: O My ascetic! Acquire a guide, O My ascetic! Acquire a guide. Earn good deeds in your heart and shun the game of the world. You have made willfulness and fascinations of the world your companion. Thrice you have been demolished and created again; this is the fourth time. That Lord Himself destroys and Himself creates; that Lord Himself is the mullah and Himself the qazi. If you will remain attached to the guide then you will not go astray. O Believer ascetic! Acquire the guide.
Verse 2
Kar gur mere arjaṇā, gur kar tu arjāṇi, Gohelḍe ham chār diaṇā, jem hans lathe nishāni; Hans lathe nishāni hans kare kāṇi, Kāyā rāṇi te to nahiṅ dhaḍerā, Hans uḍ jāesi tab pa chhṭāesi, boḍ na karsi pherā; Rūhū mārag jāṇā khaḍe sat rāṇā ui pachhṭāṇā, Jiyūṅso tilki dāṇi, Jug chothe Pir gofte Hasan Shāh, To kar gur tu arjāṇi
English meaning: O one who entreats! Acquire the guide. Accept the guide o one who entreats. We are in the world for four days; when the time comes the soul departs. At the time of the soul’s departure, the soul leaves the body worthless. Then the body has no destination. When the soul will depart you will repent. Then there will be no coming back. The soul will go on its way, will stand disappointed and will repent as a sesame seed. In the fourth era Pir Hasan Shah (r.a.) says: O one who entreats! Acquire a spiritual guide.
Verse 3
Gur kar mere pinḍatā, gur kar mere pānḍe, Sohi khasam kem visārie, jeṇe seje samāriyā bhānḍe; Āp ghaḍe shāh seje samāriyā, thānak liūṅ vāsā, Satgur ho man shāh sirevo, duniyā kūḍtamāsā; Pherā phiro māṅhe duniyā, jiyūṅhans lathe so ṭāḍhe, Jug chothe Pir gofte Hasan Shāh, To kar gur mere pānḍe
English meaning: O my pundit! Acquire the spiritual guide, acquire the spiritual guide o my pundit! How can (you) forget the Lord who Himself created your being? He Himself created and adorned him, and made a dwelling in him. Heartily obey that true guide. The world is a false spectacle. (You) keep returning in the cycles of coming and going in the world. When the soul will depart then (you) will turn to dust. In the fourth era Pir Hasan Shah (r.a.) says o my pundit! Accept the spiritual guide.
Verse 4
Gur kar mere bhāiā, kar gur mere bhāi, Sat kari santokh kamāvo, jeti duniyā vaḍāi; Sat kari santokh kamāvo, kūḍma bāndho bhāUā, Gohelḍe ham chār diaṇā, jem vakhar vaṇjaṇhārā; Avarki ham sār na jāṇe, l iyo so nām khudā hi, Jug chothe Pir gofte Hasan Shāh, Kar gur mere bhāi
English meaning: O my brother! Accept the spiritual guide; accept the spiritual guide, O my brother! Acquire truth, earn contentment and shun the evil of the world. Adopt the truth and earn contentmen t; do not tie the bundle of falsehood. We are in the world for four days as the merchant of goods. We are not bothered about others; if you wish to remember, just remember the name of God. In the fourth era Pir Hasan Shah (r.a.) says o my brother! Accept the spiritual guide.
