Verse 1

Ejī is duniyāme tū bhūlīkem jāve, Ve meḍe bhāiḍā, e na jāve, H ī jug sapnātar vīr so jāṇi e

English meaning: O my brother! Why do you forget in this world? O my brother! Do not forget. Consider this world as a dream.

Verse 2

Ejī rāhāle tū munīvar rāhāle, Ve meḍe bhāiḍā, tū rāhāle, Āge na milsī vīr so rohṇā

English meaning: O my brother! If you want to sow then do it here; there you will not get any chance to sow.

Verse 3

Ejī hāth mal mal kar tūāhāve, Ve meḍe bhāiḍā,e āhāve, Ithai bhalāi vīr tūsamajṇā

English meaning: O my brother! You will wring your hands with regret; know the reality in this world.

Verse 4

Ejī pāndhi jīv tūsarāve, Ve meḍe bhāiḍā,e s a rāve, Vakhar vaṇjaṇ bhāi tūāviyo

English meaning: O my brother! You are like a traveler in the rest-house of this world and have come here for (spiritual) business.

Verse 5

Ejī ek gayo te mul vinyāi, Ve meḍe bhāiḍā, e sharmāi, Ek rāho dharmījiliyā

English meaning: O my brother! One leaves this world having lost his capital and disgraced, and one following the path of religion becomes happy.

Verse 6

Ejī ek gayo te rādhan ujāḍve, Ve meḍe bhāiḍā, e ujāḍve, Ek rāho sang na luṇiyā

English meaning: O my brother! One leaves t his world having destroyed his field and one cannot take what he has sown.

Verse 7

Ejītero iyūṅi janam gayove, Ve meḍe bhāiḍā,e g a y o v e, Man haṭhi virā khoṭghaṇeriyā

English meaning: O my brother! Your life passed like that because the arrogant faces immense loss.

Verse 8

Ejīis ṭobe tū chint na lāve, Ve meḍe bhāiḍā, e na lāve, Tobā suksi samudar khojṇā

English meaning: O my brother! Do not get attached with this ditch. This ditch will dry up, search the ocean.

Verse 9

Ejīsab sāth latho virkhāde chhāṅeḍe, Ve meḍe bhāiḍā,e c h hāṅHḍH, Chalaṇ visāriyo vīr kusāthiyā

English meaning: O my brother! The whole caravan has stopped under the shade of the tree for rest. Those with bad companions forgot to go.

Verse 10

Ejī kuchh or hi or kitove, Ve meḍe bhāiḍā, e kitove, Or hālī or mokhā

English meaning: O my brother! You had to do something else and you did something else. You are going in one direction and your face is in another direction.

Verse 11

Ejīman chit akhiyāṅ uthai tū lāve, Ve meḍe bhāiḍā,e tū lāve, Jiththe rūh eklāchalṇā

English meaning: O my brother! Bring your heart, thoughts and eyes where the soul will have to go alone.
