Ejī satpanthī jāgo vīrābhāī nit uṭhī sāhebjīne sarevo, Parbhāte uṭhī mukh dhūvo nit dān pūn karojī, Evā kāyānā panjbhū vash karo to sahī amrāpūrī pāmo
English meaning: O my brother who trades on the true path! Wake up and always remember the Lord. Rise early in the morning, wash your face and always perform good deeds like generosity. Control five evils of the body then surely you will attain the eternal abode.
Ejī sansārmā kūḍā kūḍā ḍaglā jem bharere pārādhī, Te pārādhī kāiṅ marag van dorvāne jāejī, E maragnū haiḍūṅ chhe parvasū enū maraglī man moheyūṅ, Ere maraglo āvīne maraglīnī phāṅsmā phasāṇojī, Evā kāyānā«
English meaning: O brother! As in the world the hunter makes sly moves, that hunter goes to hunt the deer of the jungle. The heart of that deer is infatuated by someone else. The doe has captivated his heart. That deer comes and is trapped in the net of the doe.
Ejī sātme paiāle vīrābhāī jem vasere vasīarlo, Tenī surat chhe parvasū enū morlīe man moheyūṅ, Ere vasīarlo āvi kanḍiyāmā purāṇojī, Ere vasīarlo hāṭohāṭ bhīkhāṇojī, Evā kāyānā«
English meaning: O brother! As the snake resides in the seventh lowest region, its thoughts are infatuated by someone else. Its heart is fascinated by the flute. (Because of the flute) that snake was imprisoned in the snake-charmer’s basket and that snake became the means of begging from door to door.
Ejī u nḍā unḍā jalmā vīrābhāī vasere māchhalḍī, Enū udar chhe parvasū, enū khudheāe man moheyūṅ, Ere māchhalḍī āvī jālmā japlāṇī, Evā kāyānā«
English meaning: O brother! The fish lives in very deep water. Its stomach is in control of something else; hunger has captivated its heart. That fish came and was trapped in the net.
Ejī kālī pīlī pāṅkhno vīrābhāī jem uḍere bhamarlo, Enī nāskā chhe parvasū enū phūl kamale man Moheyūṅ, Ugīyo ugīyo divas ne bhamro phūl māṅhe bīḍāṇojī, Evā kāyānā«
English meaning: O brother! As the black and yellow winged beetle flies, its nose is overpowered by something else. Its heart is allured by the lotus flower. The day breaks and the beetle is imprisoned within the flower.
Ejī jhīṇī jhīṇī pāṅkhnā vīrābhāī jem uḍere patangiā, Enī neṇ chhe parvasū enū dīpake man moheyūṅ, Ere patangiyo āvī dīpaknī jotma japlāṇojī, Evā kāyānā«
English meaning: O brother! As the tiny-winged moth flies, its eyes are infatuated by something else. Its heart is allured by the lamp. That moth comes and is caught in the flame of the lamp.
Ejī bhaṇe Pīr Sadardīn kahe nar Alīnī vāchā, Evā ved suṇīne nit sāhebjīne samaro, Evā kāyānā«
English meaning: O brother! Pir Sadardin (r.a .) relates the advice of Mawla Ali (a.s.). Having heard such words of advice always remember the Lord.
