Verse 1

jī jīv Wū javā TeH ane sansārnū savāT; ઑT bhirmāne ārādhso, to sare Wamārā kāj re

English meaning: O man! >et go the pleasure of the world. /f you obey the ancient lord all your tasks will be accomplished.

Verse 2

jī āT bhirmājī āviyā, gur Shamsnū avtār; Tene tame o܃kho, to pāmo paele pār re

English meaning: O brother! That ancient lord has arrived in the guise of Pir Shams (ra); /f you recognize him then you will reach the other shore.

Verse 3

jī elam des Ali avtariyāH ane Multānpūriyā vās; Gurne partāpe ginān boliyāH simras Alīnā dās re

English meaning: O brother! Mawla Ali (͚alyhis salam) is manifest in the country of elam (elam esh) and resided at Multanpur. simras, the servant of Ali (͚alyhis salam), recited the Ginān with the blessings of the Pir.

Verse 4

jī Shāh Shams āviyā, ane phariyā fakīrī ves; Be bālkā sāthe laineH āviyā Gajani Tes re

English meaning: O brother! The Shah Shams (ra) arrived and wandered in the guise of a saint. He came to the country of Gajani (Ghazani) with two boys.

Verse 5

jī Emṇā Bāine ghar pūchhīyāH ane pāṇīne āre jāe; Emṇā Bāi satī charaṇe lāgā, gur Shamsne pāe re

English meaning: O brother! He enƋuired the address of mṇā ai͛s house and went to the place of fetching water. mṇā ai, the pious lady, touched the feet of Pir Shams (ra).

Verse 6

jī gurjī Wame bhale āviyāH Than Than amārā bhāg; ઑj to am gher padhārjo, sāmī pūro manḍānī ās re

English meaning: O brother! ( mṇā ai said)͗ O Pir! You are most welcome; this is our good fortune. Please come to our house today. Fulfill the hopes of our heart lord.

Verse 7

jī satī sāthe sadhāriyāH ane āviyā orḍā minjār; āsi upar Tāyā kiThīH em karī lāgā pāe re

English meaning: O brother! He departed with the pious lady ( mṇā ai) and came to her house. ( mṇā ai said)͗ you have been merciful on this maid; saying this she touched his feet.

Verse 8

jī bhojāṇ karo Alī bhāvsūṅ, am ghar ek ja vār; Kirpā karīne padhārjo, sāmī uWāro pele pār re

English meaning: O brother! ( mṇā ai reƋuested that) please have at least one meal in my house for the love of Ali (͚alyhis salam) O lord! Have mercy, please come and take us to the other shore.

Verse 9

jī handrabhāṇ Wab chinW dharīH ane boliyā bāine pās; Tū chho satī sāThvīH tāre chhe lokāsūṅ kāj re

English meaning: O brother! At that time handrabhāṇ thought of something and told ( mṇā ) ai that she is a pious lady and that she had to think of her relationship with others.

Verse 10

jī Emṇā Bāi tāre boliyāH sāmī ame chhūṅ Wamāre saraṇ; Tame chho bhirmājīnā bālkāH Hūṅ lāgūṅ Wamāre charaṇ re

English meaning: O brother! Then mṇā ai said O lord! / am in your protection. You are the child of the Pir; / touch your feet.

Verse 11

jī Surbhāṇ satīsūṅ em vaTeH bāi Emṇā Wāro nām; Gur Shams tam ghar āviyāH bāi Wū chho shāhāni dās re

English meaning: O brother! Surbhāṇ said to ( mṇā ai), the pious lady, that your name is mṇā. Pir Shams (ra) has come to your house. You are Mawla͛s maid servant.

Verse 12

jī kācho ghaḍo lio kumbhārthīH Kāche trāgḍe bharī lāvo nīr; Em karī rasoī āgal dharo, to āroge Shams pīr re

English meaning: O brother! (Surbhāṇ said)͗ ring a crude pitcher from the potter, tie it with a crude rope and fetch water with it. ook a meal with this water and offer, then the Pir will partake of it.

Verse 13

jī Emṇā bāi satī sanchariyāH eṇī pere bharī lāviyā nīr; Paroṇlā traṇ parsād pāyāH be bālkā Shams pīr re

English meaning: O brother! mṇā ai, the pious lady, departed and fetched water in this manner. Served food to all the three guests͗ The two boys and Pir Shams (ra).

Verse 14

jī naṇTal Nān Bāi boliyāH bāi Weṅ e sūṅ kīdho kām; Paroṇlā traṇ parsād pāyā, e rahe chhe kiye gām re

English meaning: O brother! ( mṇā ai͛s) sister-in-law Ean ai said͗ O Sister! What have you done͍ You treated three guests͍ /n which village do they live͍

Verse 15

jī gām Godī Vīloṇ chheH Zahe chhe mārā piyaryāne pās; E amārā gur chhe, bāi hūṅ chhūṅ enī dās re

English meaning: O brother! ( mṇā ai) answered͗ Their village is Godi siloṇ, they live near my parents͛ house. He is my spiritual guide, O sister! / am his servant.

Verse 16

jī naṇTal Nān Bāi em vaTeH e chhe musalmānī ves; pṇā ghar ubh܃āviyāH bāi kyāṅ rahīyo tamāro des re

English meaning: O brother! Sister-in-law Ean ai said͗ but they are dressed in a Muslim outfit. You have polluted our house. Where is your country͍

Verse 17

jī Emṇā bāi satī pāe paḍīH bāi ek hīro chhe māre hāth; Te hīro tamne āliye, ma bolo piyaryāne pās re

English meaning: O brother! The pious lady ( mṇā ai) fell at her feet (and entreated)͗ Sister! / have a diamond; / will give it to you; do not say anything to your parents.

Verse 18

jī hīro have Wāro jāṇiyo, ane pāyo sarve bheT; Māri māWāne sambh܃āvsūṅ Hna melūṅ Wāro khed re

English meaning: O brother! (The sister-in-law said)͗ Eow / know about your diamond as well as all your secrets. / will tell my mother. Will not give up my jealousy of you.

Verse 19

jī Hemā Bāi harkhe sundarīH Ane nār chhe Shāmdās sheṭh; Te nārī piyarthī padhāriyāH ane āviyā āpṇe gher re

English meaning: O brother! (Her mother) Hema ai is very prosperous and beautiful and she is the wife of businessman Sham as. She has returned home from her parents͛ house.

Verse 20

jī putrī piWājīsūṅ em vaTeH ane māWā pūchhe vāt; savare ghar abh܃āviyā, ene bolāvo sarve sāth re

English meaning: O brother! The daughter told the father, and the mother too enƋuired. The daughter- in- law has polluted our house; let͛s all get together and summon her.

Verse 21

jī Hemā Bāi harkhe bharīH ane boliyā piyūjīne pās; savar vinā chalāvsūṅ, ene moklo piyaryāni vāṭ re

English meaning: O brother! Hema ai was very pleased and said to her husband that they will manage without the daughter-in-law; send her to her parents͛ house.

Verse 22

jī seher madhe sahū ninTā kare, ane hāṅsī kare apār; Satīnī sukrit sāchī haWī, te potī pele pār re

English meaning: O brother! veryone in the city is gossiping about her and ridiculing her. The deed of the pious lady was right, she reached the other shore.

Verse 23

jī handrabhāṇ Wab boliyāH Morā sāheb karo tame meher; Gur Shamse meher kidhīH āliyā vaikunṭh ghar re

English meaning: O brother! Then handrabhāṇ entreated͗ O my lord! Have mercy. Pir Shams (ra) had mercy and blessed her with an abode in the paradise.

Verse 24

jī vaikunṭh-thī vimān āviyā, ane utariyā van minjār; Satīe sreviyā gur Shamsne, te utariyā pele pār re

English meaning: O brother! A flying vehicle descended from heaven and landed in the forest. The pious lady (Emṇā ai) obeyed Pir Shams (ra); she reached the other shore.

Verse 25

jī simras vāṇī ochare, tame sāmbh܃o sarve sāth;:e srevse gur ShamsneH Wene alse vaikunṭh vās re

English meaning: O b rother! simras is stating͗ all of you listen together! Whosoever will obey Pir Shams (ra), he will bless him with an abode in the paradise. (Eote͗ this story is told in the previous as well as in the next Ginān)
