Verse 1

Jogkā penḍā dohelā, suno jogī, Suno jogīre bhaī

English meaning: O saint! listen, the path of asceticism is arduous. O brother saint, listen!

Verse 2

Jogīkū āvat jo kahe, tākū lākh, Tākū lākh vadhāī

English meaning: The one who gives the news of the saint’s arrival, may he be congratulated millions of times.

Verse 3

Jugmā jugesar ek hae, or jāṇo, Or jāṇo so chelā

English meaning: There is only one original saint in the world. Regard the rest as disciples.

Verse 4

Satgur sāhebjī sāṅkhiyā, jugājugkā, Jugājugkā so melā

English meaning: The true guide bears witness that the existence of this concourse is eternal.

Verse 5

Bhabhūt bhūse so jogī nahī, jeṇe munḍ, Jeṇe munḍmunḍāī

English meaning: He who anoints his body with ashes, he is not a sage. He who shaves off his head, he who shaves off his head;

Verse 6

Munḍmunḍāve so jogī nahī, jeṇe bhagvā, Jeṇe bhagvā so paheryā

English meaning: He who shaves off his head is not a sage. He who dons the dress of a saint, he who dons the dress of a saint;

Verse 7

Bhagvā pahere so jogī nahī, paṇ vāṅkū jogī, Vāṅkū jogī kahiye

English meaning: He who dons the dress of a saint is not a sage but a sage is one who, a sage is one;

Verse 8

Jogkī māyāmāṅhe rahe, amar tene, Amar tene re lādhā

English meaning: Who remains engrossed in saintliness. He attained an eternal existence, he attained an eternal existence.

Verse 9

Vaikuṅṭh māṅhe bharpūr rahyā, amar tene, Amar tene re lādhā

English meaning: Who always resides in the eternal abode, he attained an eternal existence, he attained an eternal existence.

Verse 10

Pīr Sadardīn boliyā, gāfal manḍhī, Gāfal manḍhī ma chhānḍo

English meaning: Pir Sadardin (r.a.) says O oblivious! Do not leave the place of worship, the place of worship.
