Verse 1
Ejī kāyānī beḍī āpṇā gurnarsūṅ rākhojī, Jatan karīne jīvne tāro, Sansār dario, sāyar chhe dario, doe taḍdario, Dit karṇīnā hiṇā te kem karī pār utarshejī
English meaning: O brother! Keep the ship of your body with your spiritual guide; with care get your soul saved. The world is a sea, a big sea; it is a sea with two shores. Those who are weak in the deed of giving how will they go across to the other shore?

Ejī chhate hute sāhebnū nām na lidhūṅjī, Teṇe kalmāṅhe phokaṭ pherā khādhā, sansār…
English meaning: O brother! (Those who) in spite of being capable did not remember the name of the Lord, they fell into unnecessary cycles in the Kali Yuga.
Verse 3
Ejī pote na pūrā te bijāne kem vārejī, Vaṇ sukrite pār kem tarsho, sansār…
English meaning: O brother! Those who themse lves are incomplete (in their deeds) how can they restrain others? Without good deeds how will you go across to the other shore?
Verse 4
Ejī pāp ne parharo vīrābhāī, dharamnī laher leshojī, To Alīnā lāḍeṇī pere lesho, sansār…
English meaning: O brother! Shun sins then you will obtain happiness of religion. In this way (you will) obtain the infinite love of Ali (a.s.).
Verse 5
Ejī hingnā voratiyā māṇeknū mūl shūṅ jāṇejī, Te monā mīṭhā dilnākhoṭā, sansār…
English meaning: O brother! Those who trade in assafoetida (a kind of bitter herb) what can they know of the value of pearls? They are sweet spoken but false hearted.
Verse 6
Ejī nīr ghaṭiyā ne jāj chhitvāne lāgojī, Machh galāgal bāndhiyā, sansār…
English meaning: O brother! The water (level) decreased and the ship began to sink in the mud; the fish swam up to the brim.
Verse 7
Ejī kaljug chhaliyo ne duniyā ḍubvāne lāgījī, Vaṇaj keṇī pere karsho, sansār…
English meaning: O brother! Kali Yuga has overflowed and the world is drowning. In this situation how will you earn?
Verse 8
Ejī vyāj vadhiyūṅne ghareṇā ghaṭvāne lāgājī, Vastū vakhāre jai paḍiyūṅ, sansār…
English meaning: O brother! Usury has increased and the ornaments have decreased; things are lying waste in godown.
Verse 9
Ejī bhaṇe Pīr Sadardīn kahe khoṭā parle thai jāsejī, Te hinḍse raṇo raṇ rotā, sansār…
English meaning: O brother! Pir Sadardin (r.a.) says: The false will be flung far away and they will roam crying in the wilderness.
