Verse 1

Ejī khaḍiyā paḍiyā leṭiyā beṭhiyā meḍe bhāīve, Hardam sāmī rājo sambhārīye

English meaning: O my brother! Standing or lying down, reclining or sitting, remember the Lord all the time.

Verse 2

Ejījarme bhalme meḍe bhāīve, Ghaṭ pad sāmī rājo sambhārīye

English meaning: O my brother! On land or in w ater, in a valley or a path- way (mountainous road or leveled path) keep on remembering the Lord (Or o my brother! With wealth, with virtuous deeds, in the heart and whilst on foot remember the Lord).

Verse 3

Ejī deshthī pardesh āvyā meḍe bhāīve, Pardeshthī desh sadhārsho

English meaning: O my brother! From your native land (original abode) you have come to a foreign land (this world). From this foreign land you will go to your native land.

Verse 4

Ejī kiyā lai āvyā is duniyāde vich meḍe bhāīve, Tusā jai to kyā lai jāesī

English meaning: O my brother! What have you brought with you to this world and what will you take with you when you go back?

Verse 5

Ejī ghumnā phirnā is duniyāde vich meḍe bhāīve, Phir esa latū na pāesī

English meaning: O my brother! You have not come to this world merely to enjoy yourself. You will not get such an opportunity again.

Verse 6

Ejī ajab ajāeb rāh lai āeyā is duniyāde vich Meḍe bhāīve, Tusā rādhedā phal pāesī

English meaning: O my brother! You have come to this world with a strange condition. You will reap what you sow.

Verse 7

Ejī akā ambā drakhā ruhiyā meḍebhāīve, Tusā savād phaledā pāesī

English meaning: O my brother! You will get the taste of whatever you sow be it the plant of swallow wort, mango, grape or cotton.

Verse 8

Ejī tobā sārī bandenū loṇīye meḍebhāive, Hi kāyā kāchī kām na āesī

English meaning: O my brother! Man should repent truly. This body made of raw clay will be of no use to you.

Verse 9

Eji hath vice kām mukh vice nām Sāmī rājo sambhārīye meḍe bhāīve, Māng fazal bānā phal pāesī

English meaning: O my brother! Hands occupied in work and the tongue occupied in taking the name, in this way remember the Lord. Then if you ask for grace, it will be granted.

Verse 10

Ejīgofte Pīr Hasan Kabīrdīn meḍe bhāīve, Yā shāh bhulṇākū mārag lagāesī

English meaning: O my brother! Pir Hasan Kabirdin (r.a.) says that my Lord will put those, who have gone astray, on the right path.
