Verse 1

māl khajīnā bahotaj bhariyā āli Shāh (r.a.) Ejī māl khajīnābahotaj bhariyā, Usme nahīṅ kuchh terā; Rang mahol sab bhūl jāesi, Jangal hoesi ḍerā; Kyā nīnd sove man merā, Shāh samaraṇ kī veḷā; Mavlāsamaraṇ kī veḷā, Kyā nīnd sove man merā

English meaning: O brother! The wealth and treasure are lying in plenty but nothing of it belongs to you. This beautiful palace etc. will be forgotten and jungle will be your abode. O my heart! Why are you asleep in oblivion? This is the time to remember the Lord, this is the time to remember Mawla. O my heart! Why are you asleep in oblivion?

Verse 2

Ejīsir par kāḷ phire sant sādhū, Ab tūchet saveḷā; Is veḷā māṅhe jo tū bhūl jāesī, To bahot khāesī pherā; kyā

English meaning: O brother! Whether a saint or a pious person, death is hovering over everyone’s head. Beware in time. If you forget this time, then you will fall into many cycles.

Verse 3

Ejīāre sansār sakaḷ hae jūṭhā, M a t j āṇo hae merā; Chhoḍ bharam tame brahm vichāro, To khoj antar ghaṭterā; kyā«

English meaning: O brother! This whole world is false, do not consider it yours. Leave the illusion and think of the Lord; search Him in the depth of your heart.

Eji jot prakāsh līje ghaṭ andar, Gur binā ghor andherā; Kahe Sayyad Gulmāli Shāhsamaraṇ karle, Samaj samaj man merā; kyā…

English meaning: O brother! Enlighten your heart with the light because without the true guide there is deep darkness. Sayyid Gulmali Shah (r.a.) says: O my heart! Remember Allah and understand.
