Sakhī mārī ātam nā odhār ke algā ma jājore, Evo sarūp mindariyo sār tiyāṅ tame birājo re
English meaning: O my friend! O savior of my soul! Do not be separated from me. Come and sit in my heart which is a beautiful and exalted place.

Verse 2
Sakhī sej anupam sār palang par vārī re, Hūṅ to preme piyājīke pās dukhḍā visārī re
English meaning: O my friend! I have spread a beautiful unique bed on the couch. Due to the nearness of my beloved in love, I have forgotten all my griefs.
Verse 3
Sakhī hiṅche hinḍoḷā khāṭ ke sās usāse re, Mārā angḍā mā uṭhī chhe laher piyājīke pāse re
English meaning: O my friend! My breath is swaying like a swing. A ripple of love flows through my body in nearness of my beloved.
Verse 4
Sakhī vālam vireh nī vāt kenī āgal kahiye re, Koi sant mīle sudhīr to samjīne rahiye re
English meaning: O my friend! To whom I could narrate the pangs of separation from my beloved? Only if I can find a wise saint who could understand.
Verse 5
Sakhī Khālak khalakaṇhār teṇe lai tāryā re, Pīr Sadardīne pakḍi bāṅe bhavsāgar utāryā re
English meaning: O my friend! The Creator Who has created everyone, has saved them. Pir Sadrdin (r.a.) has helped them to cross this ocean of life by holding their hands.
