Verse 1

Mawlānā shāhā sāṅhī mawlānā shāhā sāṅhī, nav dāṇav chhediy ā; Kalme chhedaṇ bhale āyā ejī.

English meaning: My beloved Mawla, my beloved Mawla has killed nine demons. Now in Kali Yuga he has come to exterminate demon (Kalinga).

Verse 2

^hāhānā tambal v āje shāhānā tambal v āje, mawlānā shāhā chaḍse; S e h e t ā p ākhar joḍ lāyā ejī.

English meaning: Mawla’s drums are beating, Mawla’s drums are beating, Mawla will be manifest. He has brought along with him white reigns.

Verse 3

Iraq khanḍhe Iraq khanḍhe gaḍh hae bī mawled ā; Pīr mede batlāyā ejī.

English meaning: In the region of Iraq, in the region of Iraq is Mawla’s fort; my pir has told me thus.

Verse 5

Dāṅhe Ś īṇ ab nagarī māṅhe hīṇab nagarī ek dait bhulāṇā; ^hāhājīsūṅ v ād chalāyā ejī.

English meaning: In the city of Chenab, in the city of Chenab a demon has gone astray; he is bent on opposing Mawla.

Verse 6

^ūrjāde rāṇī ^ūrjāde rāṇī tene die chhe mat; A ḍīe na shāhāje n āle na aḍīe.

English meaning: Kueen Surjāde, Ƌueen Surjāde(his wife) is advising him not to clash with Mawla.

Verse 7

^hāhāde n āle na aḍīe shāhāde nale koī nav aḍīā; T ū kyūṅ dait bhulāṇā ejī.

English meaning: Do not clash with Mawla, no one has fought with Mawla. O demon (Kalinga)! Why have you gone astray?

Verse 8

<oī milachh maliyo koī milachh maliyo bholī ^ūrjde rāṇī; T u j s i r K ālingo dānā ejī.

English meaning: (Kalinga said): O innocent queen Surjāde! You have found a certain Muslim (whereas) on your head is (the protection of) Kalinga the wise.

Verse 9

Kāyā mugat karo kāyā mugat karo gaḍh Dilīmāṅhe besūṅ; L a ḍse sheher medānā ejī.

English meaning: Free yourself, free yourself. I am sitting in the fort of Delhi; the whole city and the battlefield will fight.

Verse 10

Mulast ān nagarī Mulast ān nagarī mawl ā takhate ja bese; L a ḍse Kālingo nish ān ejī.

English meaning: (Queen Surjāsaid): My Mawla will be enthroned in Multan city and will fight with Kalinga.

Verse 11

Bal bhīkh bhay ā bal bhīkh bhay ā e bhī rāj mawled ā; M ūṅ bhī bandīkhānā ejī.

English meaning: (Queen Surjādesaid): your power is borrowed; your power is borrowed. This is also Mawla’s kingdom. / am in a prison here.

Verse 12

Nar Nūr Shāhā chaḍe nar Nūr shāhā chaḍe Pīr gofte Hasan Shāhā; H i a g u n j pīre farmāviyā ejī.

English meaning: Pīr Hasan Kabirdin (r.a.) says that Imam Nūr Shah (r.a.) is manifest. The spiritual guide has disclosed this secret. Note: Another ginān of Pīr Hassan Kabirdin (r.a.) “Nave avtāre shah nav dāṇav chhediyā” contains similar message.
