Verse 1

moksh mārag kī sunore bātāṅ Bai Buḍhāi Jīre bhāi moksh mārag kī sunore bātāṅ, Ham se bhale pūchho ehī dhātā jīre bhāi

English meaning: O brother! Listen to the words of salvation; you may inquire of this secret from me.

Verse 2

Jīre bhāi sone rūpe kā hae veḍh tum hāthe, Aor tarūā kaḍūā birāje jīre bhāi

English meaning: O brother! In your hand there is a ring of gold and silver; and there are gold and silver bangles and bracelets too.

Verse 3

Jīre bhāi tarūā kaḍūā kī sudh jo hove, To ham bī sone ka mūl pāve jīre bhāi

English meaning: O brother! If I had understanding of the necklaces and bracelets of gold and silver, then I too could obtain the worth of gold.

Verse 4

Jīre bhāi jis vakhat bāvā jomā sipāreyā, Tis vakhat ham hajūri māṅhe beṭhā jīre bhāi

English meaning: O brother! When our father left this mortal world, I was in his presence.

Verse 5

Jīre bhāi jab sahed sākar maeṅ mukh māṅhe dītī, Tab bāvā ne vachan ehi bolā jīre bhāi

English meaning: O brother! When I put honey and sugar-lump in his mouth, then he said these words.

Verse 6

Jīre bhāi jāgtī jot sab tuj kū ja dīnā, Ehī bāvā ke mukh se ham suniyā jīre bhāi

English meaning: O brother! I have granted you a living light; this is what I heard from the mouth of our father.

Verse 7

Jīre bhāi nav khanḍ māṅhe bāvā bhirmā ja kahīye, Aesā shabad ham ne pāyā jīre bhāi

English meaning: O brother! Our father was Brahma in the entire world; such a word I obtained.

Verse 8

Jīre bhāi Bāi Buḍhāi sāchī vāt ja kaheve, Chheḍā tumārā tab hī pakaḍiyā jīre bhāi

English meaning: O brother! Bai Budhai speaks the truth. That is why I have hold on to your skirt.
