Ejī ūṅchāre koṭ bahū vechnā, nīche vahe dariyāv; Hūn re dariyāvandī māchhlī, sāiyāṅ tāraṇ āv; Hūṅ re darshan binā bāvrī, Balam ghare āv, sājan ghare āv; Bando bhuliyo tārī bandagī, sāiyāṅ sūrat batāv; Hūṅ re«
English meaning: O Lord! Your place lies in a highly elevated fort below which flows a river and I am like a fish in that river. O my beloved! Come to save me. I am restless without Didar. O beloved! Come into my house, O beloved! Come into my house. This servant has forgotten your worship. O beloved! Come and grace me with your Didar. I am restless without Didar.

Ejīagar chandannī koṭḍī, suphal rachiyā kamāḍ; tāḷā didhā chhe premnā, sāiyāṅ kholaṇ āv; Hūṅ re«
English meaning: O Lord! My heart is like a room made of fragrant aloes wood and sandalwood and its door is made of virtuous deeds. There is a lock of love on it. O beloved! Come to open it. I am restless without Didar.

Ejīpinjar paḍiyo parivārno, koik bujat jan; Mere tanki vednā, sāiyāṅ tapat bujāv; Hūṅ re«
English meaning: O Lord! The worldly family has imprisoned me but hardly anyone can understand this. O beloved! Put out the painful fire of my body. I am restless without Didar.

Ejī itnā kop na kijīye, sāiyāṅ dije dīdār; Pīr Hasan Shāhni vintī, sāiyāṅ tāraṇ av; Hūṅ re«
English meaning: O Lord! Do not be so much angry. O beloved! Grant me your Didar. Pir Hasan Shah (r.a.) entreats: O beloved! Come to save me. I am restless without Didar.
