Verse 1
Ejī uthi Allāh na ghureṅ bandā, tu sute sajī rāt, Nakā jorī jivji bānā nakā samar sāth, Shāhjo manyiaḍo tinikhe jeke subhuaḍe jāgan; Subhuaḍe na jāgiyā teṅkhe hūrūṅ na indhiyūṅ hath, Se hāe hāe kandā hath haṇindā Jiaṅ hāri vinyāi vaṭ, shāhjo
English meaning: O man! You did not wake up in the morning and remembered Allah but slept the whole night. Neither you cared for the soul nor prepared any provision to take along. Only those earn the pleasure of the Lord who wake up in the morning. Those who do not wake up in the morning will not receive the hurries. They will repent and wring their hands like those farmers who lost the season of sowing.
Verse 2
Ejī bānā tojo takiyo yārā, kanḍhanme kūḍ, Pasī ratā gulḍā yār, ma vinyāij muḍ, shāhjo«
English meaning: O man! You have wrongly made your abode in the thorns. Do not forget the reality (do not lose your capital) by looking at the red flowers.
Verse 3
Ejī bānā tojo takiyo yārā, kanḍhanme kiyo, Jaḍe sichāṇū sur kai yār, taḍe samariyo, shāhjo«
English meaning: O man! You have made your abode in the thorns. When the pinch of it pained then you remembered.
Verse 4
Ejī kapātie katiūṅ yārā, jaḍe sutā lok, Tennī pāhinje kate vidho, gichia gāḍho thok, Shāhjo…
English meaning: O man! The spinning women spun when others were asleep. They prepared a valuable red cloth and wore it around their neck.
Verse 5
Ejī jeḍoni teḍo agiyo yārā, hundh katiyāi, Poe subhāṇī sartīye vich milī markiāi, shāhjo«
English meaning: O man! They spun in whatever way they could and it was accepted. Wearing it they joined their friends merrily in the morning.
Verse 6
Ejī koṭhā manḍap māḍiyūṅ, ghar ghoḍā ne bhanḍār, Ke na neā pāṇse yār, jīv chalante vār, shāhjo«
English meaning: O man! Palaces, shamyanas, buildings, horses and treasures. None have carried them along at the time of the departure of the soul.
Verse 7
Ejī bhaṇe Pīr Sadardīn, āhiṅ suṇo moman vīr, Alakh truṭho tinīkhe, jinī sunyāto shāh pīr, Shāhjo«
English meaning: O Man! Pir Sadardin (r.a.) s ay s : O mo min lis te n ! T h e Lord pleases with those who recognize the Imam and the pir.
